After checking out of our hotel at Da Lat, we headed over to Bao Dai's mansion. Bao Dai was the last emperor of Vietnam, who went through phases of working with the French, and working with Ho Chi Minh. He has like 7 mistresses, and was persuaded to be a puppet of the French by being given this mansion...a mansion on the highest hill in Da Lat. The French governor general got the second highest hill. :) It was a pretty nice place, elegant, somewhere that I definitely wouldn't have minded living.
