I'm actually really happy that the bus broke down, because it broke down at a rubber plantation (formally exploited by the French)...and we got to see the plantation, and talk to the workers. The workers explained that about 5 full bowls of this white gooey stuff would sell for about 20 thousand dong (1 dollar and 33 cents). We watched how they cut the trees, and positioned the bowls. It was really interesting, and real. Like its never gotten tourists...just a busload of students happen to wander across the place.
