continued 2...
Here are some observations I made or thought about while at her concert:1. On any normal day, I take the bus home from school. When the stop is coming up, I stand by the door. And without fail, half a dozen people push their way up, get in front of me, crowd me out of the way, etc. I feel like learning how to say in Vietnamese "People!! I'm obviously getting off at the same exit! We all are! Calm yourselves!"
2. Try checking out at a supermarket anywhere in Vietnam. People will literally come up, and put their stuff in front of yours on the conveyer belt. I don't understand...Vietnamese people just literally do not understand the concept and courtesy of standing in line. Any line. At the airport coming back from HCMC to Ha Noi, it took us at least 15 extra minutes because people kept cutting. Its just whoever gets up there first you know.
Now, take #1 and #2 and apply them to the My Tam concert. The result? 1+1 does not equal 2. At this concert, one of the most famous Vietnamese singers on stage...people were just standing around leisurely. Dancing, clapping, etc, but not pushing their way up. I easily got to the front of the stage. Why do Vietnamese people push their way out of a bus, but do not push their way up to My Tam???
