Can I get a holla' for "Hom nay" (today) ? Today is all we have...

Today was a pretty darn good day thus far. I feel happy because I’ve gone to two classes, and in both I learned. I mean, you know…sometimes class only reinforces what you’ve heard before, or doesn’t really help you that much. Today I learned totally new things, and that makes me feel great!
I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this already, but my political science teacher pronounces “Youth” as “Jews”. He simply can not say it right. It’s really fun learning about the Revolutionary Jews of Vietnam, during the rise of communism.
So, I’m just sitting here on my computer, while my laundry is soaking…and I’m happy. That’s all.
Oh, another thing that made my day fun/funny. In class, I was talking about a “jerk” and the teacher didn’t know that word in English. We tried to explain it to him, but I ended up getting the dictionary out. I showed it to him…and he’s like…umm that doesn’t make much sense. The dictionary explained it to him in Vietnamese in terms of jerking motions, or when a train jerks. When I realized the miscommunication, I let out one of my infamous laugh/cackles. Umm…You know, the loud squaking noise that doesn’t really sound like anything except a rooster dying. So I laughed for a while, and thought that was that.
Then my roommate and I were sitting at a vendor cooling off with a drink and filling up with a Vietnamese sandwich…and she says “so what was so funny today?” Hahaha all the other classes were interrupted by a loud squaking sound. And they identified it as me. I’m so embarrassed.
Ok, gotta go squeeze my laundry.
